Elephants Dream

Proog is tenacious, guiding curious Emo through the depths of a surreal mechanical landscape that forms his world. The pair are heading to the safest place in the machine, hidden behind uncanny traps so deadly that nothing else could ever reach them.

Elephants Dream is the world’s first open movie, an animated 3D film made with open source software and with all production files included and freely available under a Creative Commons license.

Directed by Bassam Kurdali and produced by Ton Roosendaal, Elephants Dream went into production in June 2005 and was first shown to the public in March 2006. It will take part in festivals and can now be ordered on DVD via the Blender E-Shop.

As the project’s audio director, my responsibility was to edit the dialogues, create sound effects and foley material, compose the music score, and take care of all technical aspects of the film’s full 5.1 surround sound mix.
